Broward College alumnus Wayne K. Boulier is a seasoned professional with a diverse background in public safety and education.  He joined the Broward College family in 2005 as an adjunct instructor and has steadily risen through the ranks, demonstrating solid leadership and dedication to the field.

In 2012, Mr. Boulier transitioned to a full-time role taking on the responsibilities of an instructor at IPS. Since then, he has advanced to other positions including, assistant professor, program manager, and associate dean. In 2021, Mr. Boulier achieved a significant milestone by becoming the Interim Dean of the Public Safety Pathway, marking the first time an alumnus of IPS has held the esteemed leadership position.

Dean Boulier’s academic qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice/Safety Studies, complemented by a Graduate Certificate in Criminal Justice from the University of Virginia, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology. His commitment to continuous learning is clear through his graduation from the National Institute of Ethics held at The University of Southern Mississippi and successful participation in various leadership development programs such as the Broward College President’s Leadership Academy, Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy, and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement Chief Executive Program. He also serves as a Subject Matter Expert for curriculum development for police academies and professional/executive development classes with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

Dean Boulier is recognized not only for his educational achievements but also for his contribution to the community and dedication to improving public safety initiatives. He has spearheaded projects like Below 100, aimed at reducing police line-of-duty deaths, implemented study skills classes for cadets to improve test scores and serves as a guest speaker on the importance of good community relationships with public safety agencies. His community involvement extends to initiatives like the Harvest Food Drive, Habitat for Humanity, Toys for Tots, Our Fathers House in Pompano Beach, BC Cares and several food drives.

Dean Boulier is also engaged in various professional organizations, serving as a member of the Board of Directors for Leadership Broward, Criminal Justice Day chair for Leadership Broward, and a member of the School of Administration Advisory Board at Florida Atlantic University. Dean Boulier exemplifies leadership, academic commitment, and a deep commitment to public service, making significant contributions to the field of public safety.
