Broward College and NOVA Southeastern University Partner to Offer Students Unique Educational Pathway to the Master of Biomedical Sciences Program

FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. (July 29, 2022) – Broward College students can now benefit from a mutually beneficial agreement between the College and NOVA Southeastern University (NSU). Broward College students who complete the College’s Pre-Health Professional Studies (PHPS) Certificate, and meet other specified requirements, will be offered expedited review for admission to NSU's Master of Biomedical Sciences Program.

These Broward College PHPS certificate programs are designed specifically for those who already have a bachelor’s degree and are seeking a pathway into graduate professional health science programs at NSU. Students who complete the PHPS certificate programs will be on a fast-track review toward the Master’s in Biomedical Sciences or NSU’s Doctor of Pharmacy program.

“This arrangement between Broward College and NSU is another opportunity we are offering our students for post-graduate studies,” said College Provost and Senior Vice President, Academic Affairs Dr. Jeffrey Nasse, “For current and potential Broward College students, this is a chance to create a path that will only help propel their education and career further.”

For students to be offered an admission interview for the NSU Pharm.D. program they must complete a Pre-Health Professional Studies (PHPS) Certificate from the College with a minimum GPA of 3.30 on a 4.0 scale and successfully complete or are in progress of completing all admission requirements and all application procedures for the NSU Pharm.D. Broward College students who complete a PHPS Certificate may be required to complete additional courses, based upon NSU’s required courses and academic assessment of the student’s transcripts, in order to satisfy the prerequisites of the Pharm.D. program.

NSU representatives will be on the Broward College campus for visits as well as virtual information sessions to provide more information about the Pharm.D. Program to Broward College students, alumni, faculty, and staff.
