All 116 graduates were invited to participate but had to remain inside their vehicles at all times. Renee Barrera is a single mother of four children. Having started her academic journey in 2012, Renee worked full time, took care of her children, and attended night school for five years while completing her prerequisites. The journey, however, was far from easy. Renee made several sacrifices in her pursuit of a nursing degree including missing her daughter's high school graduation in order to attend her mandatory campus lab. Despite the fear and uncertainty during the difficulty in completing her degree, Renee is eager to finally be able to pursue her calling, one which she has been preparing to enter for the last eight years.
