CLASS NOTES

Alumnus Releases New Song in Support of 211 Broward 

Alexander Star is an Emmy nominated artist who graduated from Broward College with highest honors in 2008 with his A.A. Following further studies at Nova Southeastern University he has become an internationally known songwriter, recording artist, performer and social impact activist who uses his craft to “positively impact humanity on a greater scale than his own personal space." 

Star has partnered with and written an anthem for 211 Broward, “the only 24/7 comprehensive agency in the county that provides individuals and families with all of the critical connections to health and human service services they need in just one call, chat, email, or text.” Released on March 24 on streaming services like Apple Music, YouTube, and Spotify, Star’s song “Just One Firefly” conveys the message that in darkness, a single point of light can help someone find their way out. 

Broward College Alumni & Friends is proud of Alexander and his efforts to draw attention to 211 Broward and the services it provides to our community.
