MAY 2022

WILL YOU SUPPORT FUTURE HEROES?

There is still time to make a difference in supporting future heroes through Our Heroes Start Here as we celebrate everyday heroes in our local community this May. In South Florida, many of our heroes - educators, health care professionals, public safety professionals, veterans, and more are Broward College alumni and graduates.

Our Heroes Start Here helps students in the final stretch of their educational journey who have a financial need but receive little or no federal grant assistance due to working full or part-time reach the finish line through the American Dream Scholarship. Just $2,000 makes a real impact on ensuring the financial support needed to complete their educational journey.

Will you consider helping them start their careers and making a #BCProud impact on the community? Together, gifts of all sizes make a difference.

New #BCProud graduates share their pride and stories on social media

Broward College’s Spring Commencement took place on May 5 at the Broward Convention Center. Thousands of graduates and their family members filled the large hall to bear witness to the achievements of so many. The joy was palpable and contagious and demonstrated movingly how education uplifts families and communities.

Inside the graduation hall, a live hashtag feed #bcproudgrad flourished with hundreds of messages and photos from graduates, faculty, families, and staff.

Some graduates have taken to social media to share their joy and well-earned feeling of accomplishment. You can read some of their messages here. Please feel free to add yours, too.
