BROWARD COLLEGE NAMED ASPEN
FINALIST - RECORD FIFTH TIME!
We're proud to share that, once again, Broward College continues to set the example of what is possible. Last Thursday, April 20, 2023, our College was recognized as one of the top 10 from more than 1000 community and state colleges in the nation by the Aspen Institute. Notably, Broward College hit this high mark for a record FIFTH TIME.

35th Golf Classic raises more than $100,000
Broward College celebrated its 35th Golf Classic at the Fort Lauderdale Country Club and raised more than $100,000 to support the Broward College Empowerment Fund. The Empowerment Fund provides the greatest flexibility for facilitating programming and scholarship support to benefit students, as well as enabling the College to respond to emerging critical needs to support students success. Eight exceptional Broward College professors received Endowed Teaching Chair Awards
Eight Broward College professors received special recognition for their excellence in the classroom as part of the 2023-2024 Endowed Teaching Chair Awards program. President Gregory Adam Haile, J.D., and College Provost and Senior Vice President Dr. Jeffrey Nasse surprised the faculty members in their classrooms on Monday, April 17. Learn more
Mile-high achievement: Broward College receives multiple recognitions from American Association of Community Colleges Awards of Excellence Gala in Denver
Broward College has reached yet another summit of community college achievement this month, having been recognized by the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) in several award categories during their recent awards gala in Denver on Monday, April 3. Learn more

Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, the president and CEO of Celebrity Cruises, is the commencement speaker for the spring 2023 graduation ceremony, on Tuesday, May 9, at the Broward County Convention Center. Learn more

NEW DATE: PAT TILLMAN HONOR RUN
Join us for the only Pat Tillman Honor Run/Walk in Florida on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at its Judson A. Samuels South Campus.
The Pat Tillman Honor Run/Walk proceeds will support Broward College veteran students.
The Pat Tillman Honor Run celebrates the legacy of Pat Tillman, who left his NFL career to enlist in the U.S. Army after 9/11. He was killed in the line of duty in 2004. The 4.2-mile course honors Tillman’s jersey number 42 which he wore when he was a member of the Arizona State University football team.

Alberto Rodriguez, Class of 2016
Alberto is a seasoned Information Security Professional with over seven years of professional experience. His specialty is adversary detection and simulation, drawing from his extensive background as a former Cyber Operations Officer in the Army and the commercial sector. Alberto currently leads a team of highly skilled hackers as a Managing Security Consultant (MSC) at Guidepoint Security. Alberto holds a graduate degree in Digital Forensics from Champlain College and an undergraduate degree in Information Technology from Broward College. He also has several industry-recognized certifications, including Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), and GIAC Certified Windows Security Administrator (GCWN). As an Adjunct Cybersecurity Professor, Alberto shares his expertise with aspiring professionals at various institutions around the United States.
Dr. Todd Price, Class of 1988
Dr. Price began his academic and professional journey as a Broward College student. During his professional journey, he has served as a Broward County social worker, data analyst, an adjunct instructor, and an instructional designer. He has broad experience in instructional technology and design, computer applications, pedagogy, collaboration with institutional leaders, marketing, and professional development. He has over 20 years of teaching experience and became a full-time faculty member for the STEM-Information Technology Pathway at Broward College Online in 2020.
Dr. Price believes that aside from teaching his students, he gets to learn about each of their shared experiences. As an andragogue, he believes his continuing passion and lifelong learning within the fields of education, graphic art, technology, and teaching translate to building robust learning environments that benefit faculty and students.
