RECENT ALUMNI & FRIENDS EVENTS

On Tuesday, November 19, the inaugural Alumni & Friends Leadership Luncheon took place with well-known author, filmmaker and Broward College alumna Nerissa Street as the special guest speaking on the topic of Self Care for Leaders. The event attracted many individuals, including honorary Broward College Foundation directors and distinguished alumnus Mike Borrone and former Broward College Vice President for Advancement and distinguished alumna Patti Barney.

On Saturday, December 14, Broward College alumni spent a day improving the beauty of one of our local beaches by joining the Fort Lauderdale Beach Sweep. They were given buckets and pickers and a two-hour window to collect debris, with the team’s results sorted into categories – such as recyclables, straws, cigarette butts and general trash. Every little bit helped make the beach more beautiful, and lasting friendships for alumni and their families were created.

On Wednesday, January 8, the second Alumni Connect Happy Hour took place at the new Casa Sensei on Las Olas Boulevard. Broward College Alumni & Friends had special, hand-crafted libations and Latin/Asian fusion appetizers, while enjoying great conversation and learning more about upcoming 2020 events and each other.
