#BROWARDGIVES ON #GIVINGTUESDAY
From alumni to faculty & staff, friends, and so many others, the enthusiasm to see Broward College succeed has been so inspiring! Together, 80 supporters raised nearly $16,000 to support Broward College students. We are so thankful for everyone that gave, shared, and spread the word about the importance of #BrowardGives on #GivingTuesday.

Congratulations to the latest cohort of #BCProud graduating students
Alumni & Friends participated in Gradfest on three Broward College campuses this month. It’s a time of great excitement as soon-to-be graduates pick up their caps, gowns, and tickets, along with their Broward College alumni pin and other goodies. Graduation takes place on December 14 at Hard Rock Live. Learn more
Achieving the dream: Shannon Escoriaza becomes the first Broward College student to win the National American Advertising Award
Shannon Escoriaza, who graduated with an associate degree in Graphic Design in May, earned a place in Broward College history this year when she became the first-ever student from the College to win an ADDY Award in the American Advertising Awards’ National Competition. Learn more

For the second consecutive year, Broward College received the Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award from INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine, the oldest and largest diversity-focused publication in higher education. Learn more
Broward College Foundation Board Member recognized by AFP on National Philanthropy Day
On Wednesday, November 16, 2022, the Association of Fundraising Professionals Fort Lauderdale/Broward Chapter hosted its 35th annual event at Signature Grand to recognize the 2022 National Philanthropy Day honorees. Learn more

FIRST ART EXHIBITION FOR DIONNE POLITE, BROWARD COLLEGE FOUNDATION BOARD MEMBER

Broward College South Gallery will showcase the works of Broward College Foundation board member Dionne Polite from Thursday, December 1, 2022, through Thursday, January 19, 2023. This event will be Polite’s first art exhibition, and it is titled “KALEIDOSCOPE: My Culture, My Pride,” which will feature works, including “Abundance,” “Living In Color,” “Empty, but Full,” and more. The public is also encouraged to join Polite for an artist talk and reception on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, from 2 to 4 p.m. Learn more.

ALUMNI EXHIBITION OPENS IN ROSEMARY DUFFY LARSON GALLERY

“From Here" features the work of four Broward College graduates who are building their art careers and doing exciting work.
Through a variety of media, these alumni artists give us a glimpse into their experiences through their unique outlooks. For example, Nathalie Alfonso holds an MFA from Southern Methodist University, Sydney Kaye Bouwens is a graduate of the University of South Florida with a BFA, Rivka Louissaint received her MFA from UC Berkeley, and Leeann Rae is an MFA candidate at the University of Central Florida. BROWARD COLLEGE WALK-FOR-AWARENESS

January is National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month. To help build awareness around this important topic, Broward College is hosting a Walk-for-Awareness event on January 28, 2023, at the Central campus. Funds raised for this event will also benefit the Broward College Social Behavioral Sciences Scholarship. Learn more.

WELCOME ABOARD

We're delighted to welcome Fedilia Guzman to the Broward College family as our new Campaign Manager.
Fedilia is a #BCProud Class of 2010 graduate. She was active in student leadership, the Phi Theta Kappa, and Robert “Bob” Elmore Honors Institute as a student at BC.
After receiving her A.A. with Honors in International Relations in 2010, she continued her love of learning and successfully pursued degrees in Political Science, Government and Mass Communication along with Masters in Aviation Science and in Divinity.

ALUMNI INTERVIEW
Interview with Russell Cormican, Class of 1970
Alumnus Russell Cormican arrived at Broward College after having served his tours in the military. He was among the very first students to graduate with the newly established A.S. in Criminal Justice Technology. His time and the instructors he had at Broward College inspired him on his own path as a career public safety leader and educator.
