ALUMNI & FRIENDS GATHER AT REBEL WINE BAR

Alumni & Friends gathered on its first networking social event of 2023 at the highly acclaimed Rebel Wine Bar, where fellow Broward College alumni and supporters could mingle and connect.

Rebel Wine Bar has received high marks for offering unique wines from around the world that are approachable and affordable in a cozy but stylish setting. Attendees enjoyed freshly made beverages paired with tapas and cheeseboards.             

A portion of the proceeds from this networking event benefitted Broward College's Empowerment Fund.

Newly elected executive officers announced, three Broward College Foundation Board Members re-appointed 

During the Broward College Foundation Board of Directors Meeting on Thursday, February 23, Chair Farlie announced the 2023 slate of executive officers and thanked the elected officers for their service to the Board. The Foundation also re-appointed American National Bank (Oakland Park, Fla.) President and CEO Ginger Martin; Division Chief Nurse Executive with HCA Healthcare Natalie Ransom; and Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Cloud 9 Nonprofit Advisors, LLC Jessica Rodriguez. Black History Month is a time for Americans to reflect on the contributions of Black people to the United States of America. It is a history filled with equal parts activism and invention, pain and progress, tribulation and triumph, and it involves figures that are crucial to the American narrative. Learn more

Broward College expands access to post-secondary education with new transformational justice programs

Broward College has launched two new programs aimed at improving access to post-secondary opportunities for residents. Through its new Transformational Justice programs, the College is removing barriers to education and employment to select first-time offenders and other Broward County residents who have been involved with the legal system. Zero textbook courses to help students cut college costs

In a world full of financial uncertainty, college students are often faced with tough financial decisions. While Broward College may not be able to control the cost of gas, rent, and food, a new program hopes to make a difference in how much students pay for textbooks. Learn more

We congratulate alumnus Luis Aponte, A.A. '00 on publishing his article in the prestigious journal "Education," a peer-reviewed education journal published continually for more than 142 years. His article is called "Reviewing and Updating the Documented Historical Reports on School Shootings: New Strategies to Help Save Lives on Campuses." Learn more
