PAT TILLMAN HONOR RUN

Run or walk with us on April 15 in support of our student veterans at Broward College. Our Central campus will host the only Pat Tillman Honor Run in Florida. 

Tillman quit his career as an NFL superstar to join the military following the terrorist attack on 9/11. Pat died during his service, but his legacy lives on. 

Broward College hosted the first Pat Tillman Honor Run in Florida in 2016, and now post pandemic reconvenes the Honor Run to continue to uplift the Pat Tillman legacy! This Run/Walk event will help us provide financial support for veterans attending Broward College.

Broward College District Board of Trustees Welcomes Three New Members and the Reappointment of the Board Chair

Three new members have been appointed to the Broward College District Board of Trustees. The appointments of Cindy Kushner, Alexis Yarbrough, and Mario Zanotti-Cavazzoni were announced by Governor Ron DeSantis on Friday, February 17. The announcement also included the reappointment of the current Chair of the Board, Zachariah "Reggie" P. Zachariah, Jr. The appointments are subject to confirmation from the state Senate. Now in its 39th year, NEDA Week provides an opportunity to shed light on eating disorder education and the experience of approximately 28.8 million Americans who live with eating disorders. The PIPELINE funding for nursing schools was allocated last year by the Legislature to retain students as well as instructors, who’ve been lured by lucrative nursing jobs in other states. Learn more

Florida is now officially the country’s fastest growing state, something Gov. Ron DeSantis often takes the credit for. That impact DeSantis talked about is a focus for Dean Sara Turpel, the nursing administrator at Broward College, when she talks to people considering a career path like hers in nursing. "I do this all the time. I am always trying to talk people into becoming nurses," Turpel said. Learn more

From March 21-23, Broward College’s North, South, and Central campuses hosted employers from all industries and sectors covering the many academic Pathways offered by BC. Alumni jobseekers and students had the opportunity to talk face to face with recruiters and submit their resumes. Alumni can access all job opportunities on Broward College’s Career Center Network at Broward.edu/ccn (CCN is a lifelong benefit for alumni, completely free of charge).
