NEW ALUMNI GROUP ESTABLISHED - HOSPITALITY & TOURISM MANAGEMENT ALUMNI
On June 21, 2023, the newly-formed Broward College Hospitality & Tourism Management Alumni Committee held its first in-person meeting and social. This productive gathering proved that idea generation and a concrete plan of action can coincide with fellowship and delicious homemade desserts.
Broward College Librarian and professor Andrew Dutka gave the group a personal tour of Broward College's Archives & Special Collection room before we sat down to business. We thank professor Robert A. Donato, D.B.A. for his guidance and the attending committee members Lena Bullock, Joseph Focht, Natalie Garcia, Jacqueline C. Grant, and Ryan Thomas. Mentorship, networking, and job sharing topped the list of the strategic plan action items that the committee adopted. The meeting adjourned on an inspired and celebratory note with everyone enjoying cupcakes and banana bread baked by Sweet Treats by Lena.
One of the first action items has already been executed: we have created a LinkedIn Group dedicated to hospitality and tourism industry alumni and professionals wishing to network, share news of career opportunities, and attend future events, educational workshops, and activities. Request to join by clicking here.
